Victron 12V AGM Super Cycle battery 60 to 170 ah

The AGM range has a very low internal resistance. Therefore, these batteries are particularly suitable for applications with high current discharge such as inverters, steel rudders and winches.

A truly innovative battery

AGM Super Cycle batteries are the result of the latest developments in the field of battery electrochemistry. The paste on the positive plates does not soften so quickly, even if the battery is discharged to 100% several times. In addition, the new additives in the electrolyte reduce sulfation in the event of a deep discharge.

Exceptional performance despite repeated deep discharge

Tests have shown that the Super Cycle battery is still efficient even after at least three hundred 100% deep discharges.

During the tests, the batteries were discharged daily to 10.8 V with I = 0.2 C₂₀. They were then left in the discharged state for two hours and then recharged with I = 0.2 C₂₀. Most batteries will be damaged if they are left in the discharged state for two hours 100 times, but not the Super Cycle battery.

We recommend using the Super Cycle battery in cases where occasional discharge to 100% (deep discharge) or more frequent discharge to 60-80% is to be expected.

Smaller and lighter

Another advantage of the new chemical composition is that the batteries are smaller and weigh less compared to our previous deep cycle AGM batteries.

Low internal resistance

The internal resistance is also slightly lower than our usual deep cycle AGM batteries.

Life cycle

≥ 300 cycles at 100% deep discharge (discharge to 10.8 V with I = 0.2C₂₀, then leave in the discharged state for approx. 2 hours and then recharge with I = 0.2 C₂₀.)

≥ 700 cycles at 60% deep discharge (discharge for three hours with I = 0.2C₂₀, immediate recharge with I = 0.2C₂₀)

≥ 1000 cycles with 40% deep discharge (discharge for two hours with I = 0.2 C₂₀, immediate recharge with I = 0.2C₂₀)

Temperature influence on the charging voltage

The charging voltage should be reduced as the temperature increases. Temperature compensation is required for prolonged temperatures below 10°C / 50°F or above 30°C / 85°F. The recommended temperature compensation for Victron VRLA batteries is -4 mV / cell, ie -24 mV / °C for a 12 V battery. The reference point for temperature compensation is 25°C / 70°F.
